Basic systems and controls

 

A fully pumped system is one in which a pump circulates heated water round both the radiator and the hot water circuits. This allows the use of the smaller boilers and pipework than a gravity-fed system

 

Older "basic" systems rely on gravity fed hot water and pumped central heating. Fitting controls will permit a good degree of independent control for both circuits
